DoseBell — Pill Reminder
Last updated: September 2026

The short version

DoseBell does not collect your personal medication data. There is no DoseBell account, no DoseBell server database, and no tracking of your health records. Your medications, your schedule, and your dose history stay on your iPhone, and — only if you turn on iCloud — in your own private Apple iCloud storage, which we cannot see.

This page explains how your information is safeguarded and how third-party advertising is managed.

Who we are

DoseBell is published by MoveSnap. You can reach us at support@movesnap.app.

What we collect

Nothing from your medications or health history. We have no servers that receive your medication details, schedules, or dose logs. We do not know who you are, what medications you take, or whether you took your pills today.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter into DoseBell is stored on your device:

  • Medications, strengths, forms, and the pictures or photos you attach to them
  • Schedules, dose times, and quiet hours
  • Your dose history — taken, skipped, and missed
  • Inventory counts, refill thresholds, prescriber and pharmacy details
  • Care partner names you add
  • Your app settings

iCloud sync

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, DoseBell syncs this information between your own Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit private database. That storage belongs to your Apple Account. We have no access to it and no ability to read it. Apple's privacy policy governs that storage.

iCloud sync uses Apple's push notification service to tell your devices when there is new data to fetch. Those messages come from Apple's servers, not ours.

You can turn iCloud off for DoseBell at any time in your device's Settings under your name → iCloud. Turning it off leaves the data on the device.

Camera and photos

DoseBell can attach a picture to a medication so it is easier to recognise. You can take a photo with the camera or choose one from your photo library. The image is stored with that medication on your device (and in your own iCloud if sync is on). It is never sent to us.

DoseBell asks for camera access only when you choose to take a photo. Choosing an existing picture uses Apple's photo picker, which hands DoseBell only the one image you select — the app never gets access to your photo library.

Notifications and alarms

Reminders are scheduled on your device by iOS. Nothing about your schedule leaves the device to produce them. On iOS 26.1 and later, DoseBell can also use Apple's AlarmKit so a reminder still rings when your iPhone is silenced or in a Focus mode; those alarms are also created locally.

Apple Watch

If you have the DoseBell watch app, your iPhone sends the day's doses to your watch directly, over Apple's device-to-device connection. The watch app and the watch face complication share that snapshot through a private storage area on your own devices. None of it passes through us.

Purchases

DoseBell Unlimited is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, payment details, or Apple Account. To decide whether to unlock the app, DoseBell asks the App Store on your device a single yes-or-no question: does this Apple Account own this purchase.

The date your free trial started is stored in your device's Keychain so that reinstalling the app does not silently restart the trial. That date never leaves your device.

Sharing a report

DoseBell can generate a PDF of your dose history for a doctor's appointment. The PDF is created on your device. Nothing happens to it until you choose to share it, and then it goes wherever you send it using the standard iOS share sheet — mail, messages, printing, or a file. We are not involved and receive no copy.

Advertising (Google AdMob) & User Consent

To support free features, DoseBell displays advertisements using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).

Complete Health Privacy: Your medication names, dosages, frequencies, reminders, dose history, and health notes are stored exclusively on your device (and your personal encrypted iCloud if enabled). This sensitive medical data is never shared with, accessible to, or analyzed by Google AdMob or any advertisers.

In accordance with GDPR, UK GDPR, and privacy regulations, Google's certified User Messaging Platform (UMP) displays a consent dialogue before ads are shown. AdMob may process non-sensitive pseudonymous technical identifiers (such as device model, IP address, and SKAdNetwork attribution tokens) for ad delivery and fraud prevention. You can manage your tracking choices in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

What DoseBell never does

  • No advertising access to your medication, medical, or dose data
  • No selling or sharing of your personal health data
  • No analytics or crash-reporting services
  • No access to Apple Health
  • No location access
  • No contacts access
  • No account, no email address, no login

Children

DoseBell is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we hold no information about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete on your behalf. You are in full control: deleting a medication removes it, and deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. If you use iCloud, you can also remove DoseBell's iCloud data from your device Settings under your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change ever affects what happens to your information, we will say so clearly in the app.
